ARTIST'S
STATEMENT

For me painting is a gateway connecting my personal inner spaces to this material world
that we all share.

I set up my studio wherever I am moved to paint – be it by the ocean, in the woods,
on top of the big city bridge surrounded by the rush-hour traffic, or tucked into the corner
of the living room watching the family drama unfold at the dinner table.

As I begin my work on a subject at hand, my perception glides softly through the empty spaces
between objects, touching everything along its familiar flight towards the horizon and back.

Yet the center of my awareness remains focused on what I am experiencing on the inside ---
the ever-expanding joy and wonder of becoming one with the world, the heart’s longing
beckoning me forever onward into the twilight. My inner state remains my only true guide
and companion in this process, the early inspiration and the final arbiter on the success
of a day’s work.
